You might have seen the word AMAB, and have been wondering what the word means, or what it stands for.
The acronym AMAB stands for Assigned Male at Birth.
Since none of us can choose our gender at birth, one is assigned to us. AMAB can represent someone that is transitioning male-to-female MtF, or someone that prefers to be non-binary, but due to societal pressures of identifying oneself concretely, prefers the term AMAB.
